Westgate is the heart of one of Auckland's fastest-growing metropolitan centres — a major retail, community and civic hub serving Massey, Whenuapai, Kumeu, Hobsonville and the wider northwest.
The new Westgate busway station opened in August 2026. It is a major bus interchange connecting the Northwest Busway (WX1, 11T, 11W) to dozens of local routes. The town centre has three large shopping precincts, an excellent library and community facility, one of Auckland's best playgrounds, and a strong cluster of gyms and fitness studios.
NorthWest Shopping Centre

Westgate is a major bus interchange — the northern gateway to the Northwest Busway, with dozens of local routes converging here.
Routes 11T and 11W exit the motorway at Point Chevalier and continue to the city along Great North Road. This is great for interchanging with other routes at Point Chevalier — useful for reaching Unitec, St Lukes or Mt Smart — or for accessing MOTAT and Auckland Zoo, both directly on the route.
