Parrs Park

★★★★★4.5(2,395 reviews)

A large and well-loved community park with something for everyone. The highlight is a fantastic multi-level play tower with slides for children of all ages, plus a sandpit, water play system and swings — the playground is at the Parrs Cross Road end of the park, about 15 minutes' walk from the station. Also on site: a well-maintained cricket ground with two pitches, a skate ramp, basketball court and half court, park benches along walking paths and public toilets with drinking fountains. "Beautiful park for walking — great playground for kids of all ages." A vegetable store, dairy and two bakeries are located across West Coast Road, at the southern end of the park.
