Greenlane is a quiet but well-connected station on the Southern Line, sitting at the intersection of Great South Road and Greenlane Road. The surrounding area punches well above its weight — Kākāriki Hospital and the large Allevia Hospital Ascot precinct (including White Cross Ascot urgent care) are a short walk away, along with the Ascot Office Park medical complex and the Ellerslie Racecourse. Cornwall Park and Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill are reachable by bus. The Allevia Hospital and Ellerslie Racecourse are accessed by turning right out of the station, crossing the underpass and motorway.
