From Puhinui, approximately 8 trains per hour run towards the city centre during peak hours (6am–8pm), with services until 10pm. Journey time from Puhinui to Waitematā (city centre) is approximately 25–30 minutes. The first train from Waitematā to Puhinui leaves at 5:30am, with the last at 11pm. In the other direction, the first train from Puhinui to the city leaves at 5:10am, with the last at 10:20pm.
At Puhinui you can also connect to Route 37 towards Manurewa and Highbrook. Alternatively, stay on the AirportLink to Manukau Bus Station (Putney Way), where connections to other South Auckland bus routes are available.
💡 Fares (AT HOP & contactless): The AirportLink itself is included in your AT fare — you pay one fare for the whole journey. Example fares to the airport: $3.00 from Manukau, Ōtāhuhu, Botany and Howick · $4.90 from central suburbs (New Lynn, Newmarket, Glen Innes) · $6.50 from the City Centre. Total journey from the city centre: Train from Waitematā to Puhinui (~25–30 min) + AirportLink to airport (~18 min) = approximately 50–55 minutes total. Allow extra time during peak hours or for international check-in.
